Conventional wisdom tells us that communication is a fundamental component to any successful relationship, but many of us fail to recognize that means more than just communicating about our feelings and needs, but also includes communicating about our current financial situations and goals.

As women we wear so many hats- professional, partner, mother, sister, friend,  house cleaner, Chef and  family custodians that when a partner offers to take something off our hands we are relieved to have one less thing on the to do list, but you should never give up complete control of your finances.

I meet with women on a daily basis who come into my office with their heads hung low, ashamed that they know little to nothing about their family finances. Many of those women are the lower wage earner or have stayed at home to raise a family, and they many times feel ashamed of their financial contribution to the family. I often think if I had met these women only a year or two prior they would walk into my office with their heads held high confident of their worth, or better yet they wouldn’t need my services at all.

In an effort to provide women with the tools they need to succeed financially and otherwise I have partnered with two other professional women in the Middlesex area to put on a seminar about legal and financial planning. Our mission is to provide women with the tools they need to feel confident about managing their current financial situations and plan for the future they always wanted. There will be a family law attorney, estate planning and business attorney and financial planner at the event to answer all your questions.
